Close Ties with Clients
Dartmoor builder Nick Fell has been given an award for his close working relationship with customers.
The Fell Partnership Ltd boss has won a HBXL Xcellence award after becoming a leader in the restoration and preservation or rural buildings across Dartmoor.
Mr Fell who operates out of Taverstock but lives in rural Dartmoor is the February winner of the national awards scheme.
HBXL, a building software company said the reputation of Mr Fell and his team was “such that the business is one of a few that carries out work in Environmentally Sensitive Areas”.
HBXL bosses also declared “His reputation is now so good that recommendations are now coming in from DEFRA, National Parks and the MoD.” Having originally worked as a farm contractor and agricultural engineer, Mr Fell started the building business with his wife in 1991 after coming to the aid of a friend, who needed help repointing a house.
Having completing the work, Mr Fell was then asked to do a similar job on another property – and that was then the Fell Partnership came into being.
Mr Fell said “Allot of the work we do means using local materials so that the building in question is restored to fit back in with its immediate environment.”
“And because a lot of the work we do is located in environmentally sensitive areas, its imperative we work closely with the client and authorities to make sure that what we are doing is in keeping with the vernacular surroundings and up to their expectations – which is a huge balancing act.
“I always prefer to have a client on site so that any decisions are made together, Doing this then makes for a good, trustworthy relationship and one that helps build the reputation of the business.”
