HBXL software - Taking the pain out of Health and Safety

The Health & Safety Software Solution for a Trade at Risk

In the construction industry Health and safety compliance has never been a higher priority and the need for small and medium sized building businesses to comply to the increasing raft of legislation comes from the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) and is enforced through site visits and checks for the relevant paperwork.

Under the many regulations those responsible for ensuring that health and safety guidelines are adhered to are employers, the self employed and those who control the way in which construction work is carried out.

To coincide with the HSE’s announcement of the latest figures for fatalities and serious injuries in the construction sector, HBXL have released the new
Health & Safety Xpert which is an easy-to-use software package developed to encourage builders to take a more proactive approach to health and safety paperwork.

Health & Safety Xpert provides you with tools and paperwork needed to help compile a health and safety policy and helps to initiate health and safety arrangements, risk assessments and site checks. You simply tell the software what it is you are going to build and it does the rest to help ensure your paperwork is up-to-date and that you’re compliant with existing legislation.

The recent HSE figures show that in 2004/2005 there were a total of 71 fatal accidents in the construction industry.

The HSE’s Latest Figures:

  • There were 71 fatal injuries in the construction industry in 2004/2005
  • Falls account for around 50% of ALL fatalities
  • There were 3,760 reported major injuries
  • Falls from height account for a third of all major injuries
  • Adrian Wild, managing director of HBXL said: “I have been in the building trade for over 25 years now and have seen how the issue of health and safety has taken on a much bigger presence in the industry.

“The laws and regulations appear to be changing rapidly and it can be hard to keep up, particularly if you run your own small business. The problem with health and safety is that there doesn’t appear to be any set guidelines or templates telling you how to present the paperwork correctly, which is why we’ve produced Health & Safety Xpert!”

Using the knowledge of leading Health and Safety professionals and Adrian’s own understanding of the building trade Health and Safety Xpert has been comprehensively designed to produce every document needed for each individual job. The builder simply puts basic information about the job into the software and it produces Company
