The art of the matter
After much deliberation Professional Builder, along with a team from HBXL, has chosen the overall winner of the 2007 Xcellence Awards.
With 11 candidates to chose from, the decision was not easy, with each monthly winner all displaying attributes, skills and company philosophies that makes them worthy candidates.
But only one overall winner could be picked and we are delighted to announce that Jeff Goodyer of Artbuild Kent ltd has been chosen.
Jeff’s story is a great example of how someone can overcome major adversity, and still deliver a service that has made him and his company one of the best in the area in which he operates. Having suffered two major accidents resulting in a broken neck and loss of sight in one eye, many would be inclined to call it a day.
Not so far fro Jeff, despite those serious physical setbacks, still gets up in the morning with a smile on his face and an exciting expectation about the day ahead.
Jeff said “When I was recuperating after my accidents, I was totally reliant on others to help me get through. Because of this we make sure that those people we work for get the best possible service.
“People save up a long time wanting a new extension, brand new kitchen or conversion so we ensure that dream exceeds the customers expectations, even it means spending a little longer on the job than anticipated.
“We’re really chuffed to receive this and it’s testimony to making sure we stick to our philosophy of making a real effort to provide the best possible service to all our clients. I would like to thank as well my sons Justin and Christian and also Wayne Buckley, all have whom have made the business what it is.”
Joanna Mulgrew, marketing director at HBXL said “All the monthly winners are a credit to the building industry but Jeff’s story really stood out. We set out to highlight that a lot of excellent work takes place right across the country, work which very often goes unnoticed.”
