"The software is the best money I have ever spent"!

I used to do all my estimating by hand and it took me a good 4 days just to get 1 quote done! Now I have EstimatorXpress it’s completed in a matter of hours and my quotes look really professional! The software is simple to use and quick, I’m winning allot more business with this software.

The EstimatorXpress disk stays in my computer 52 weeks a year as I’m constantly preparing quotes from all the business it’s created! The only downside is that I need about 50 more people to work for me to get all the jobs done!!!

EstimatorXpress has been a God send - I don't think I'd have been able to cope without it! I used to do the job of a Quantity Surveyor when it came to my estimating. I would do all my research manually ie: finding the prices, taking measurements, using pen and paper...but then along came EstimatorXpress - it's so quick and easy to use! Its speed and simplicity make it quite unbelievable! I wish I'd had it years ago! Since using EstimatorXpress, I have not done an estimate that has taken longer than 2 hours. Before I had the software, that same estimate would've taken up to 2 weeks! I especially like the quote wizard as the quotes it produces are so professional, especially since I can add my own logo. I once went for a job and was able to see the quote a competitor had drawn up - it was scribbled on to the back of an A4 sheet of paper, in really bad handwriting! It looked absolutely rubbish! Then, I showed the customer my estimate, all printed out nicely, including everything down to the last light switch. The quotes really are good - they really show the customer that you know what you're about and you're much more likely to win the work.

EstimatorXpress is so easy so use. It lets me do my estimating a lot quicker than before. I used to use the old pen and paper method of estimating, which meant that I would have to spend 4 days costing up an extension. These days, on EstimatorXpress, I fly through them, estimating up to 4 in 1 evening! The software speeds it all up so much and gives me more time for the things I want to do. Once you get to know the software, there are loads of shortcuts you can use to make things even faster - you can save templates of old jobs, meaning that once you've done 1 extension, you don't have to start from scratch again. I recommend EstimatorXpress to loads of people. 3 of my competitors have got it but that's okay cos it's good to have friendly competition.

EstimatorXpress is a good product and the Tech Team are very helpful too - there at the end of the phone every step of the way, ready either to take your call there and then or to call you back as quickly as possible to help you sort things out.

The EstimatorXpress group training is very good - very comprehensive. I knew quite a lot about the software already because I've been using it for a while, but the training taught me loads of things I never realized you could do with it. As a company we tried many budgeting systems over the last 10 years, none of which were easy to understand or follow. I purchased a copy of HBXL's estimating software in 2002, as we had a new site coming up with 4 large detached houses to build in a conservation area that had to be budgeted to the penny.

HBXL's training manager was good enough to prepare the budgets individually for the houses using the software, and to tailor it so that we could incorporate our own purchase orders on the budget. This allowed us to enter our PO's every week and the total spend automatically deducted itself thereby producing the most important figure on a weekly basis: the balance of how much is left in each operation to spend!

Also, we were able to furnish our bank manager at any time with a correct cash flow balance, which is the most important thing you can have on site. In fact, the local Nat West bank manager complimented us on the clarity of the monthly figures for drawdown purposes as he understood them perfectly, and asked me for HBXL's telephone number to pass onto other builders and developers that he had on his books.

The budgets themselves were almost spot on from HBXL's training manager and because they were finely tuned plus wastage, which most builders pretend is not there, it gave us a target to try and beat the figures and save ourselves money. We are just about to start a large house (4,750 sq ft) and I am looking forward to using the new HBXL package, EstimatorXpress. I have no doubt that it will be excellent!
