Toolbox Talks Register
Health & Safety Xpert™ Total Toolkit is an easy to use software package that will save you massive amounts of time producing crucial health and safety documentation legally required under current UK law. This includes the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the new Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations 2007.
Information, instruction and training regarding safety, COSHH, access, use of plant, work systems and health and safety is carried out as part of your Site Induction and as part of regular Toolbox Talks. Relevant information will also be contained within the Site Rules. The information provided must take account the level of training, knowledge and experience of the employees.
Use the Toolbox Talks Register supplied with Health & Safety Xpert software to maintain a record of what information and training has been delivered to site personnel and by whom. Use the Toolbox Talks Register in conjunction with the Toolbox Talks Training Record which enables you to record who attended which training session. It is important to file these records so that they could be consulted by an inspector if necessary.
The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 describes the general duties that employers have towards their employees and to members of the public which include:
- The provision of safe plant and systems of work
- The safe use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances
- The provision of any required information, instruction, training and supervision
- A safe place of work including access and egress
- A safe working environment with adequate welfare facilities
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 clarifies what employers are required to do to manage health and safety under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and states that information must be provided to staff on the risk assessment, risk controls, emergency procedures and the identity of people appointed to assist on health and safety matters.
