A software company based in Bristol is introducing a series of innovations to help builders defy the downturn.
HBXL, which has its head office in Pritchard Street, has products which include software that dramatically speed up the process of producing estimates, called EstimatorXpress, a computer-aided design (CAD) application that enables builders to produce architect-quality plans and drawings, PlansXpress, a health and safety programme that produces all relevant health and safety paperwork required by law, called Health & Safety Xpert , and a programme called ContractsXpert that helps builders produce, manage and archive building contracts.
The company’s 20-strong team is now looking to help builders survive the downturn and plan how they can make the most of the recovery.
Set up by Adrian Wild himself a former builder, the company now has sold more than 12, 000 licences for its products, a figure that is growing steadily.
Adrian said: “We constantly look for ways in which we can improve our current set of software products but also see if there are any gaps in the market where we could make a difference.
The beauty is they massively speed up the time it takes to produce either a full estimate or set of health and safety paperwork and as a builder I know how useful that is.
This is something that in the past would have taken days and frees up the builder to concentrate on the job in hand. In addition it helps improve the way builders present themselves which in the current climate is what customers came to expect.
He added “Over the past few months we’ve noticed that more builder are now considering using our software and is a true indication that builders realise the benefits our products bring to their business.
We’re also launching a new sales website with a dedicated customer support area and forum. Plus there will be more access to free trials so that potential users can try before they buy and see exactly how HBXL software can help them. It’s all part of our strategy to help builders stay in business and survive.”
