HBXL, the UK’s leading building software company, and a
major benefit provider to Guild members, scooped a hat-trick of top
awards at the Interbuild Show in the autumn.
One of the Interbuild New Product Awards presented to HBXL was for best ‘IT Product for SME’s. It was for version 2 of its PlansXpress software.
Viewed as being the leading industry experts on building software,
HBXL, won the ‘Most Successful IT Return on Investment’ category with
Oakleafe Property Services Ltd and the ‘Best Connected’ Construction
Project category with Footprint.
The awards were presented to the customer and IT vendor partnership
that had demonstrated to the judging panel a clear IT strategy and a
successful implementation that had produced the most tangible business
benefits.
An integral part of the Interbuild 2008 show held at the NEC, the
awards bring together leading construction software companies and
provides independent advice from industry experts.
Commenting on the ‘Best IT Product for SME’s award, the judges said:
“This CAD package (PlansXpress) is simple to use and requires no formal
CAD training. It demonstrates a significant contribution in helping
SME’s improve productivity and professionalism.
Two other accolades were projects were HBXL software – including EstimatorXpress, PlansXpress and Health & Safety Xpert – provided invaluable , helping to accurately draw plans, work out budgets, win the work and bring them in on time.

Link with Timber specialist
In a separate development for HBXL, it has also announced that it
has teamed up with AW Champion Ltd., the south east’s leading
independent timber specialists.
It means users of HBXL’s EstimatorXpress
estimating software will be able to access AW Champion’s material price
list when putting together their quotes and estimates, and give
customer a true quote based on actual prices in their area.
With nine branched across the south east, and more than 75 years
experience of supplying the building trade, AW Champion is the region’s
leading independent timber specialist. The company was also voted as
one of the UK’s top performing timber merchants in a customer survey by
TRADA.
Botibol said: “This is great news for user of EstimatorXpress. It
means builders, particularly those in the south east, will be able to
produce even better estimates when quoting for jobs.
“Builders can waste hours of time on the phone to merchants getting
prices on materials and this is why we have developed links with
merchants such as AW Champion”.
One reason EstimatorXpress
has been so successful is because of its direct link to builders’
merchant price lists which are updated daily via the internet. That way
builders know the quotes they are producing are 100% accurate based on
prices in their area.
