The announcement by the Government to relax the rules on lofts and extensions is good news for small to medium sized builders but will result in the success of thoese who are equipped with the right systems and building software
That's the view of Anthony Botibol form HBXl who believes the changes will mean builders who can produce plans and estimates immediately will have a serious edge over their competitors and therefore dominate their local market. Commenting on the announcement
Anthony said: " The new rules will save many builders a lot of time and money during the planning stages and should be broadly welcomed. Typically it would take six to eight weeks to get planning approval on an extension assumign there are no objections, so the new rules remove the traditional delays of planning. And that's after the plans have been drawn up and approved by the customer. The relaxing of the rules means projects can start much quicker so if a builder has a slot in his diary, he can start the job in the time it takes to get the plans and quote toghether"
