Trade specialists wanting to improve the way they produce and present estimates can now take advantage of new software designed specifically for them.
Developed by HBXL the new EstimatorXpress 'trade editions' will allow users to accurately price up jobs without having to spend an inordinate amount of time working out how much a job might cost.
It means specialists such as roofers, plumbers, heating installers, plasterers , decorators, electricians and groundworkers will have more time to spend on site doing the work, earn more money and free up their leisure time in the evenings and on weekends that would otherwise be spent producing quotes and estimates.
Historically, many trade specialists would get an idea of an estimate based on their experience, which they then write down and send to the customer. This new software, however, dramatically speeds up the process, with, for example, a roofer taking just five minutes to complete a total estimate.
Plus, with a wealth of project management tools, reports and schedules the software does a lot more than just estimating, and gives the user total control over the costs of the business.
And in today's increasingly competitive market, the way tradesman present themselves is becoming more and more important.
Each edition focuses on each niche area and works in a similar fashion to HBXL's award winning EstimatorXpress estimating software which is used for general construction.
All users have to do is input exactly what the job entails into easy to understand drawings. Once all parameters have been inputted the user just clicks a button and sits back while the software produces a totally accurate estimate right down to the last washer, u-bend, tile or pot of paint.
Keeping track
The reason for the software's accuracy is because it's linked to a price tracker that provides the very latest national average prices on materials. In addition the software can also be linked directly to specific trade merchant's price lists, which downloads prices as they are changed via the internet.
That way users and customers will know that any quotes are a precise reflection of current market rates.
And with a selection of read prepared 'estimating calculators' users will find it so easy to use they'll wonder how they managed without it.
Commenting on the software, Anthony Botibol, marketing manager at HBXL said: "Our family of estimating trade editions will not only speed up the estimating process for trade specialists but make them increasingly competitive."
In addition to its ease of use and speed, the EstimatorXpress trade editions include handy tips and reminders that pop up on screen of potential items that might be needed on a job. It also produces a 'just-in-time' schedule of activity of when materials and parts need to be ordered and when the work needs to commence. And those wanting any further advice on how to best use the software only have to dial a number a have a chat with a designated support advisor.
Anthony added: "The way trade workers present their quotes and estimates to customers is becoming more and more important. There's nothing worse than spending time producing and estimate only not to win the work. What we've done is provide a means to dramatically speed up the process while at the same time increase the probability of winning the work."
