Why choose HBXL?
Back in 2003 HBXL conducted one of the biggest IT surveys in the building industry only 60% of builders owned a computer with even less actually used their PC or laptop to enhance their business. With that in mind our policy has always been to produce software that can be used by the complete novice. Now with over 8000 software Users HBXL set the standard for building software year after year.
2001 – The first and only company to produce estimating software to link directly to live merchant prices.
2004 – The first company to produce graphical estimating software using pictures to enter dimensions.
2006 – The first company to produce software to draft building plans and fully estimate in one go allowing small builders to
offer a design and build service.
2006 – The first company to produce CAD software specifically for builders.
2007 – The first company to bring you CDM compliant health and safety software.
2008 – The first company to bring you crystal mark approved building contracts software
Created by a builder for builders
Adrian Wild, founder of HBXL knows the construction industry well with 25 successful years in the building trade so he knows what builders need from software. Plus the recruitment policy here at HBXL demand that our consultants and software developers know about software AND the building industry. It’s a winning combination.

Professional training
For those with less experience or who want to speed up their adoption of EstimatorXpress, they may choose to take up some software training. We therefore provide training for anyone that wants it. And contrary to what other software companies may say, we offer training because we know that some people will need or want it – this does not mean the software is difficult!
Exceptional customer support
Any advice and guidance website will tell you that you should get a good support package with your software including a manual and telephone assistance if required. All HBXL software comes with a HBXL Support & Updates package that includes a printed manual, telephone backup, free internet tutorial videos and a user forum and Knowledge Base. We are confident that we are number one in the industry for the quality of our support!
Live links to builder’s merchants
You can waste hours either on the phone to merchants, waiting for them to get back to you or perhaps you can’t even get hold of them when you’re estimating in the evenings. That’s why we exclusively offer you the chance to link your EstimatorXpress estimating software to a live set of merchant prices or even to one of our merchant partners – including personal rates and discounts.
Unique technology
As well as setting the standard for software HBXL has also created X-connex, its own data sharing technology that that links together all our software packages meaning users only have to enter project information once saving yet more time. For instance, just by drawing a set of plans you can import into EstimatorXpress for a full estimate and quote. Then import your estimate into Health & Safety Xpert for full health and safety documentation and then import into ContractsXpert to automatically produce contracts for the job. You can then export your estimated costs into CIA Accounts or QuickBooks to compare budgets with actuals.
Now that’s X-connex!
The HBXL community
We have a team of Account Managers to ensure our growing customer base get the personal treatment from us. Plus with support emails including free Top tips, a growing discussion forum, the live chat service and the odd call from one of our Account Managers you get more than just software from HBXL.
